Très Rouge – Wine Release Party at Captain’s Walk Winery
June 17, 2017
Très Rouge Wine Release Party to Coincide with Automobile Gallery Car Show
There’s a lot happening in our neighborhood on Saturday, June 17! A combination of car and wine enthusiasts will be roaming the road just in front of Captain’s Walk.
Some options for you…
•Très Rouge samples on the front porch from 10 am to 2 pm.
•Salsa and Sangria at our tiki stand in front of the winery from 10 am to 1 pm.
•Automobile Gallery Inaugural Car Show from 8 am to 2 pm.
After taking in the sights and sounds of the car show, and having your fill on salsa and sangria, step inside the Walk for the Très Rouge Release Party.
While inside, sign up for a tour of our newly decorated Cellar Tasting Room. In it you’ll find a stock of oak barrels, aging our next generation of vibrant red wines. Our Saturday tours are at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.
Trés Rouge, is a pretty special wine to us. It was put together from barrels in the Captain’s Walk cellar of three unique wine varieties, Tempranillo, Mourvedre, and Petit Verdot. Then our staff sampled this blend and came up with the description and possible names for this wine. Très Rouge was chosen as it pays homage to the Spanish and French origin of the wine grapes used. What does that taste like, you ask? Glad that we put that question into your head! Here’s the short answer…
This wine is rich and supple. It greets the nose with
warm notes of licorice, clove, vanilla, and cracked
pepper. Taste sumptuous flavors of ripe mulberry,
pomegranate, and plum with a finish that offers
sweet oak and suede-like tannins.
Captain’s Walk Small Batch wines allow the savvy wine taster to experience small, regional tastes. You won’t find these wines on store shelves – we save them just for you at the winery. The small batch series helps us to try out new ideas. Wines that are well-received can eventually show up under our normal label. We’ve celebrated local Door County Marquette grapes, and have explored Tuscan blends. Another guest favorite has been our Fumé Blanc, a barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc. Chardonnay isn’t the only white that can benefit from barrels! If you have been collecting the small batch series from the beginning, then we are excited to release this new batch for you!
No reservations are needed to attend. Simply visit us in downtown Green Bay on Saturday, June 17. We look forward to sharing the day with you!
