Angelina Restaurant Wine Dinner

Angelina Restaurant is a downtown Green Bay is bringing their fantastic fare to Captain’s Walk Winery for a wine dinner on October 23. Five courses of authentic Italian cuisine will be paired with five of our award-winning wines. Those are ten things that you’ll love to try!
Angelina Restaurant treats dining as an art form, making every meal from scratch with the finest ingredients. Angelina came to the United States in 1993 from Italy. Her skills as a cook, her love for her homeland dishes and her eagerness to share her talents are what inspired her to start Angelina Restuarant at 117 North Adams Street, just a handful of blocks away from our winery. We are so excited to invite our neighbor over for our second wine dinner of 2016.

The first course will be Antipasto Misto. These are classic Italian appetizers including bruschetta, caprese, and prosciutto crudo. We will be pairing Sauvignon Blanc, a sumptuously fruit forward ensemble loaded with a plethora of mouthwatering aromas and flavors. They include gooseberry, melon, fig, pear, apricot, passion fruit and guava.
After some time has passed, enjoy the second course of Pasta Al Forno. It is comprised of a homemade Bolognese sauce and béchamel tossed with penne pasta. Then finished with parmesan cheese and baked. We bring out our most prized Italian red for this course – Sangiovese! This bold red shows how rich, yet supple, the varietal can be. It displays a subtle raisin nose with concentrated aromas of black cherry, briar berries and a hint of anise.
Enjoy Insalata Siciliana for the third course. This includes a spring mix, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, capers, artichoke, kalamata olives and balsamic vinaigrette. We’ll be pairing our 7 Seas, a rosé with vibrant aromas of fresh pear, ripe apple and aromatic apricot.
Can you feel your tummy getting full already? Not quite yet, we have two more courses to go!
The fourth course will be Pollo Alla Zia Tina, an 8-ounce chicken breast, lightly floured, sautéed, and finished with brandy and cream served with asparagus wrapped in prosciutto. The wine pairing will be our un-traditional barrel-fermented Chardonnay. Chardonnays tend to be barrel-fermented OR stainless steel fermented. This one is both; a blend of barrel and tank fermented wine with great complexity of both fruit and slightly toasted French oak.
We’ll finish with a fifth course of Tiramisu. This is classic Italian dessert, with ladyfingers dipped in espresso and brandy, covered with mascarpone cheese and cocoa. Our Captain’s Mistress, a brandy-fortified Marquette from our Door County vineyard, will leave your taste buds asking for another night with the pairings of Angelina Restaurant and Captain’s Walk Winery!ry.
