Automobile Gallery Wine

Captain’s Walk to Release Automobile Gallery Wine

Ask any winemaker about the science of winemaking, and they’ll tell you there is an element of art involved. Careful balancing and blending brings final flavors forward in any great glass of wine. The same sentiment is held by The Automobile Gallery, where the automobiles ARE the art. You won’t find fancy paintings on the wall or collectors memorabilia in this gallery. It’s all about the beauty of the cars as it was originally intended by their designers. We are so excited to have them as neighbors. They have been driving traffic to our corner in downtown Green Bay! What’s better is that our businesses are joining forces to release a vintage that will raise money for their gallery.

The Automobile Gallery board of directors visited our cellars to taste and pre-approve a new white wine blend named Collaboration. The wine is an off-dry blend of Chardonnay (50%), Sauvignon Blanc (30%), and Pinot Grigio (20%). These three grapes lend their unique traits to create an ensemble that is redolent with pineapple and bright tropical aromas. The off-dry, smooth triad starts off deep and complex then leads to a crisp and refreshing finish.

The Automobile Gallery is dedicated to educating, inspiring and sharing the passion of the automobile with the community and car enthusiasts throughout the United States. For every bottle of Automobile Gallery wine purchased, Captain’s Walk will donate $1 to this unique non-profit organization–a true collaboration between our two companies!

The first vintage of 140 cases will roll off of the bottling line in September. It’ll then rest from bottle shock. We are planning for a special release party both at The Automobile Gallery and Captain’s Walk Winery on Saturday, November 5th, from 11 AM- 3 PM.   Contact us at 920-431-9255 for a $2.00 off  admission coupon to the Automobile Gallery.

Welcoming the Classic Art of the Classic Car

January 21, 2016 by Brad Schmiling

Classic Car

Whether it’s the simple beauty of body or the complexity of the construction, the call of a classic car is undeniably felt by one and all, yet the winter months that herald snow and cold put a definite chill upon that warm feeling as the classics are safely packed away, hidden from sight but not mind. That’s why it’s with much excitement that I’m able to announce the installation of a very new, and very welcomed, presence in the Green Bay community: the Automotive Gallery!

Thanks to the founder of PDQ Car Wash, Red Lewis, the Denil Cadillac dealership just across the way at the corner of Adams and Crooks Street has been restored into a gallery to display his personal collection of classic cars. More than just cars, these works of art allow of the up-close and personal experience that every aficionado craves. The space is large enough to hold the cars and provide additional room for events in the executive conference room supplemented with catering and dining options (with our own wines on the list!) While the public tours aren’t set to begin until late winter or early spring, there’s still hope for those that are truly interested: the opportunity of a private tour.

So if you’re still stuck on what to get that special someone that takes pride in the classic car and every working part that goes into it, there’s a simple, and romantic, solution: make a date night of a classic car show and dinner with drinks at Captain’s Walk! Reservations can be made at both for a unique and enjoyable experience that not only capture the classic feel of romance, but the nostalgia of the holiday season as well.
