Wine Cellar Tasting Experience Coming to Captain’s Walk
Secret passageways and hidden rooms have an intoxicating effect. Is it the idea of going where few others have? Is it ingrained in us from our childhood when we built forts and hideouts? There’s just something special about secrets. Now it’s tough to write an article about something that shouldn’t be shared, but this one has to be because our winery is meant to be enjoyed, not hidden!
Announcements can’t be secrets so we’re throwing secrets out the (basement) window. We’ve added a special vintage tasting room in our barrel aging cellar. Well technically, right next to it. With a view of the barrels and that smooth smell of French and American white oak in the air, this room calms most senses so that your taste buds can pick up the slack.
We like small spaces. At Captain’s Walk you can have your pick from a cozy lounge, Captain’s Quarters (members), a vintage reception room, the bistro bar by the fireplace, and of course our sunroom. There are plenty of options for meanderers along with some seats in almost every room. Since that’s our style, we’re planning a cellar sitting area around an old wood table for our next cozy niche.
What would you do down in the wine cellar? How about a little sampling led by a wine expert? Perhaps some pairings of food fresh from our bistro will be your ticket. While popular wine and food offerings will be available, it is only fair to share that we have more in mind.
This room has been in the works for over a decade. Old vintages have been packed away every year just for this experience.
At the cellar winemaker’s table, you will be provided with a private, multi-course pairing. Look for the opportunity to try our select, vintage wines. We will begin by offering the cellar tasting by reservation only.
